Gurgaon’s 8-year-old Kartik Singh has won the under-8 category at the Kids' Golf World Championship organised by US kids Golf in Malaysia, which makes him the youngest Indian to win the title.

Rohit Sharma 1st Indian to slam 5 ODI Hundreds in Australia

Team India’s Right-hand opener Rohit Sharma becomes the first Indian batsman to smash five hundreds in ODI cricket in Australia. Rohit, achieved this milestone while playing first ODI of the series against Australia in Sydney.

Jaideep Govind appointed Secretary General, NHRC

Senior bureaucrat Jaideep Govind has been appointed as Secretary General, National Human Rights Commission.

  • Govind, a 1984 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, is at present Special Secretary and Financial Adviser in Ministry of Rural Development.


Nitin Wakankar appointed new spokesperson of CBI

Senior Indian Information Service officer Nitin Wakankar will be the new Chief Information Officer and spokesperson of the CBI, replacing Abhishek Dayal who has been transferred to the Publications Division.

Former banker, AAP leader Meera Sanyal passes away

Former banker and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Meera Sanyal passed away after battling cancer for a brief period. She was 57. Sanyal, who earlier served as the chief of Royal Bank of Scotland, resigned from her position to join AAP in 2013.
