Govt sets a target to raise health services expenditure to 2.5% of GDP by 2025 Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said that the government has set a target to raise health services expenditure to 2.5 per cent of the country's GDP by 2025. In reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, Dr Harsh Vardhan said, the public expenditure on health services is continuously increasing. Railways aim to install CCTV cameras in over 7,020 train coaches by March 2021 Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said that that Railways will install Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in over 7,020 coaches of mainline passenger trains during Phase-I which is targeted to complete by March 2021. They are already installed in 1,300 coaches of mainline passenger trains. First Ever IICTF to be held in New Delhi from October 11-13, 2019 The first ever India International Cooperatives Trade Fair (IICTF) will be held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from October 11-13, 2019. It is a unique initiative for taking farmers, artisans and other members of cooperatives directly to the international trade arena. Indo-French Joint Air Exercise Garuda-VI begins The Indian and French Air Force has started Garuda VI exercise at Mont de Marsan in France. The exercise is scheduled to take place from 1 July to July 12, 2019, in France. IPS officer Aparna Kumar completes Seven Summit challenge Aparna Kumar becomes first IPS officer to complete Seven Summit challenge by scaling Mt Denali. Mt Denali is the tallest mountain in North America.

RBI sets up panel to review CICs The Reserve Bank of India has set up a working group to review the regulatory and supervisory framework for core investment companies (CIC).
  • The group will be headed by Tapan Ray, non-executive chairman, Central Bank of India.
  • The panel will examine the current regulatory framework for CICs in terms of adequacy, efficacy and effectiveness.

ICICI & IndoStar Capital partner to finance commercial vehicles ICICI Bank has tied up with NBFC IndoStar Capital for vehicle financing for small and medium fleet owners to buy new as well as old commercial vehicles.
  • Under this partnership, IndoStar will originate and service the customers through the entire loan life cycle including sourcing, documentation, collection and loan servicing.
Maharashtra ranks first in NITI Aayog's AMFFR Index Maharashtra achieves first rank in NITI Aayog launched "Agricultural Marketing and Farmer Friendly Reforms Index (AMFFRI)".
  • The index ranks states based on the degree of reforms they have undertaken in agricultural marketing.
Govt ropes in IBM for pilot study on using AI, weather tech in agriculture The Centre has inked pact with IBM India for undertaking a pilot study to utilise Artificial Intelligence (AI) and weather technology solutions in agriculture in one district each in three states.
  • The pilot study will be conducted for the Kharif crop season 2019 in three districts - Bhopal, Rajkot and Nanded - in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra, respectively
