India, Netherlands announce launch of strategic partnership in water sector
India and the Netherlands have announced the launch of the strategic partnership in water sector to further intensify ongoing cooperation and better coherence in the area. Joint Secretary in the External Affairs Ministry Sandeep Chakravorty informed about this while addressing the media in New Delhi after the India - Netherlands Virtual Summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Netherlands counterpart Mark Rutte.
  • The Joint Secretary said that the two countries also discussed collaboration in the field of agriculture, Urban Development and Space.
NITI Aayog launches Online Dispute Resolution handbook
NITI Aayog launched the first-of-its kind Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) handbook in India. ODR is the resolution of disputes outside courts, particularly of small and medium-value cases, using digital technology and techniques of alternate dispute resolution such as negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. Sikkim plans to provide 100 per cent tap water connections to all households before March 2022
Sikkim has planned to provide 100 per cent tap water connections to all households before March next year under Jal Jeevan Mission. The State has about one lakh five thousand households, out of which 81 thousand households have tap water connections. It has provided about ten thousand 300 tap water connections in 2020-21. India gifts Rs 100 crore patrol vessel “PS Zoroaster” to Seychelles
India formally handed over Rs 100 crore patrol vessel “PS Zoroaster” to Seychelles during the virtual summit between Indian PM Narendra Modi and Seychelles President Wavel Ramkalawan. The PS Zoroaster is the fourth made-in-India patrol boat developed for Seychelles since 2005. The other vessels gifted by India include PS Topaz (2005), PS Constant (2014), Patrol Boat Hermes (2016).

ICCR Foundation Day celebrated at Indian Embassy in Beijing, “Little Guru” app launched
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) celebrated its 71st Foundation Day on 10th April. On the occasion, the ICCR has unveiled ‘Little Guru’ app, world’s first Gamified Sanskrit learning App which was jointly launched in Beijing by Ambassador Vikram Misri and renowned Chinese scholar on Sanskrit and India studies, Professor Wang Bangwei.
  • Little Guru will be a gamified app based on an interactive platform which will make Sanskrit learning easy, entertaining, and fun.  This app will help people who are already learning Sanskrit or those who are desirous to learn Sanskrit to do so in an easy manner based on games, competition, rewards, peer to peer interactions, etc.

SBI MF becomes first mutual fund house to cross Rs5 lakh crore average AUM mark
SBI Funds Management Pvt. Ltd has become the first mutual fund house in India to cross the Rs5 lakh crore average assets under management (AAUM) mark. In the last one year, SBI MF’s average AUM has grown to ₹5.04 lakh crore from ₹3.73 lakh crore, recording a growth of 35 % during the financial year 2020-21. Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Honours Indian Business Tycoon Yusuffali with Top Civilian Award
Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has honoured Indian-origin businessman Yusuffali MA and 11 other individuals with Abu Dhabi's top civilian award for their noble and charitable contributions to the community. Yusuffali, 65, the Chairman and Managing Director of Abu Dhabi-based LuLu Group which operates hypermarkets and retail companies in many countries, was honoured by the Crown Prince.

Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju inaugurates Khelo India State Centre of Excellence for Rowing in Srinagar
Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju inaugurated the Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (KISCE) for rowing at the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council Water Sports Academy in Srinagar.
  • At present, the KISCE will focus on rowing and will be provided a first-time grant of Rs 145.16 lakh and an annual recurring grant of Rs 96.17 lakh.
  • This is one of the two KISCEs from Jammu and Kashmir, with the Maulana Azad Stadium for fencing in Jammu being the other. A consolidated amount of Rs. 5.08 crore has been approved for the two centres.

Mahabharat Actor Satish Kaul passes away
Veteran Punjabi actor Satish Kaul, who featured in several Hindi films and shows including Mahabharat, passed away due to COVID-19 related complications. He was 74.

World Homoeopathy Day
World Homeopathy Day is celebrated on April 10. The day is observed to mark the importance of homoeopathy and its contribution to the world of medicine. The date is the birth anniversary of Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, who was a German physician and the founder of homoeopathy.
  • This year, the theme of the celebration is “Homeopathy- Roadmap for Integrative Medicine”.
