BIS and IIT-Delhi Inks MoU On Standardisation and Conformity Assessment
Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi to collaborate in the field of standardisation and conformity assessment. This partnership is aimed at making the process of standardization more effective.
- IIT Delhi will provide infrastructure support for R&D projects of relevance to standardisation and BIS will provide financial support to IIT Delhi for projects.

Miss India runner up Sana Dua to be election dept's brand ambassador in J-K
Femina Miss India 2017 runner up Sana Dua will be the brand ambassador of Jammu and Kashmir election department for general polls. Dua, the first runner up of the beauty pageant, has voluntarily offered her services for educating, creating awareness and motivating the electorate of J-K for exercising their franchise to ensure greater participation in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
- She is an advocate by profession and an enthusiastic social activist. Recipient of various beauty awards, she has actively been engaged in promoting girl child education and "Save Water" campaign in the state.

NASA plans to land astronauts on Mars by 2033
After plans to land American astronauts on the Moon by 2024, four years ahead of its previous schedule, NASA now proposes to put humans on Mars by 2033. At a congressional hearing on NASA's budget in fiscal year 2020, NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine cited the goal of putting astronauts on Mars by 2033.

Bank of Maharashtra gets Rs 205 crore capital from govt
State-owned Bank of Maharashtra said the government has infused Rs 205 crore into the bank in lieu of preferential allotment of shares. Following the allotment of shares, the shareholding of the government has increased to 87.74 per cent in the bank from 87.01 per cent earlier.
- The paid-up capital of bank had increased from Rs 2,598.45 crore to Rs 2,753.17 crore.

Government meets fiscal deficit of 3.4% in 2018-19
The Finance Ministry is believed to have met the revised fiscal deficit target of 3.4 per cent in the last fiscal 2018-19 largely by cutting expenditure, withdrawals from small savings accounts to meet the food subsidy and higher GST collections.
- The direct taxe collections fell short by Rs 50,000 crore. The GST collections, however, touched Rs 1.06 lakh crore in March and the gross GST revenues overshot the target of Rs 11.47 lakh crore, which also partly helped adjust for the shortfall on the direct taxes front.
BSE, India INX become first Indian exchanges to sign MoU with Moscow Exchange
BSE and India International Exchange (India INX) have signed a memorandum of understanding with Moscow Exchange (MOEX) to connect investor community and companies in both countries besides allowing a capital formation platform.
- BSE and India INX are the first Indian exchanges to enter into the MoU with Moscow exchange. BSE, India INX and MOEX will use the India-Russia Initiative as an important portal for professional intermediaries in both markets to share their know-how and expand their client network in their home market and abroad.

Saurav Ghosal becomes first Indian man to enter top-10 in Squash rankings
Saurav Ghosal became the first Indian male squash player to enter the top 10 in the latest PSA world rankings. Indian women squash players Joshna Chinappa and Dipika Pallikal had earlier reached top-10 in the world rankings.
- Riding on his recent performances, Ghosal has moved up two places to a career-high ranking of 10. Egypt's world champion Ali Farag, meanwhile, maintains his position at the top of the ladder.
India climbs 2 spots to 101 in latest FIFA rankings
The Indian football team moved up 2 places to 101 in the latest FIFA rankings released recently. India, who have not been in action since the AFC (Asian Football Confederation) Asian Cup in January, had dropped six spots to 103 in the February edition after ending 2018 at 97.
- The team is at present without a head coach after Stephen Constantine stepped down from his position post their Asian Cup sojourn.
ICC to join hands with Interpol to fight corruption in sport
The International Cricket Council (ICC) said it has sought “closer working relations” with the Interpol, an organisation which facilitates worldwide police cooperation, to widen the scope of its fight against corruption in the sport.
- The cooperation was discussed during ICC Anti-Corruption Unit General Manger, Alex Marshall’s visit the Interpol headquarters in Lyon, France.
12th Asian Airgun Championships 2019 in Taiyuan, Taipei
India ended the 12th Asian Airgun Championships 2019 in Taiyuan, Taipei, with an overall tally of 25 medals including 16 gold, five silver and four bronze to completely dominate the championships.

The 90s actress Mayoori Kango, who many might remember as the "Ghar Se Nikalte Hi, Kuch Door Chalte Hi" girl is now industry head in Google India. Before joining Google India, Mayoori has worked as a Managing Director in Performics which is part of Publicis Groupe.

After the honorary doctorates from The University of Bedfordshire and The University of Edinburgh, superstar Shah Rukh Khan has received an honorary doctorate in Philanthropy by The University of Law, London. The actor received the merit during a graduation ceremony for more than 350 students in London.
